Against the World of Kings. A New Political Space Sets the Tempo of Freedom

Final statement of the national assembly “Kings or Freedom”, which took place in Bologna, at TPO, on the 24th and 25th of January 2026

In Bologna, we projected ourselves into the future. The new world is already here, before us.
A world, theirs, that has definitively shelved international law; that targets activists; that represses and attempts to erase confederal and democratic political projects; that seeks to control the bodies of women and dissident subjectivities; that legitimizes mass deportations and obstructs freedom of movement; that pushes us toward dystopian cities where those who earn less are excluded while crisis advances. A world in which war is not an exception, but an ordinary technique of government.

A world, ours, that in order to function must set the tempo of resistance, peace, and alternative all at once, together, simultaneously.

The throne on which the Kings sit appears solid, but the layer of ice on which it rests is still thin and can shatter. We must equip ourselves so that this can happen, with new techniques and effective conflict.

The old world will not return. The transformation underway is material. Everything is contested. The Kings want to dispose of lives and lands, of new sciences and technologies. Old political forms shrink into domination; freedom, instead, is realized by caring for what best holds us together and by inventing new political forms.

We are already projected into the coming months: new repressive measures; a right wing on the rise, moving in step with big capital to design their new project of society; the prospect of a destroyed and colonized Gaza becoming synonymous with “peace”; tariffs, impositions, arrogance elevated to merit and even proposed for a Nobel Prize.
This is their project of society.

And ours? We are already in the future, because it is in the present that the resistance is played out from which our new world can be born. The old does not return; the new must born. Power is old but takes new forms: digital policing and armed men who, as once again happened in Minneapolis, kill. We must increase the scale of our activation and be ambitious. In the cities and in Europe. In the federation of struggles, in the construction of a dictionary of freedom from the Kings, against the Kings.

Let us pose the question of how to truly sabotage the strategic nodes of the war capitalism supply chain, and let us think about how to build a European general strike. They are building a repressive apparatus that directly attacks the possibility of overturning power relations; they are shaping an intimidating and patriarchal climate that, behind the supposed inevitability of war, conceals the relentless dismantling of our social rights and our civilian industry; They are imposing a predatory approach that is devastating our industrial system, promising bosses the protection of profits through military conversion while crushing the dignity of labor. And military conversion, by its very nature, means the impossibility of ecological and social conversion, the indispensable transformation needed to break free from deadly fossil dependency. We must not be a movement that merely opposes to rearmament; we must build power relations that can actually overturn it.

We must build the possibility of a transfeminist Europe rooted in confederated territories and new subjectivities, in direct opposition to the Europe of nationalisms and war.

It was in this spirit that we approached our discussions, from which an agenda and a future vision have emerged that, in the accelerations of the present moment, find in this space a political site of convergence, to be nurtured, expanded, and transformed together with care.

The departure of the caravan for Rojava opened our gathering, and the message of democratic confederalism ran through every assembly. The words of the uprising in Iran reminded us that the Kings who are our enemies are not only in Washington, but also in Tehran. Finally, the resistance of those under attack, at times by the United States, at times by Russia, at times by Israel, at times by jihadist forces, at times by Palantir, dispelled any remaining ambiguity: resistance to oppression is sacred. The right to peace is won through resistance against the Kings.

Agenda

28 March: TOGETHER, INSIEME. In parallel with the massive demonstration in London against the far right, a national demonstration of the No Kings convergence. We welcome the proposal from comrades in Rome to hold a preparatory assembly for the demonstration on March 1st in Rome.
We launch a call to artists and figures from the worlds of culture and performance to join the initiative for a day of international protest in the Capital, with a final concert, similar to the one currently being organized in London.

31 January: With Askatasuna at the national march against the government, war, and attacks on social spaces.

5–8 February: Mobilizations against the Milan–Cortina Winter Olympics, with the presence of ICE, the Israeli team, and Qatari armored vehicles.

14 February: Regional demonstration in Naples in defense of social spaces.

21 February: Antifascist demonstration for Valerio Verbano in Rome.

5 March (during the anti-conscription demonstration in Germany, “War on War”): Day of territorial mobilization against the war.
During this period, decentralized conflictual actions across territories against the arms industry (such as in Vicenza against the U.S. military base at Dal Molin).

8–9 March: Transfeminist general strike.

22–23 March: A clear NO to the justice referendum. We will actively engage at the local level in the NO campaigns.

23–29 March: Housing Action Days, a week of European mobilization for the right to housing.

Territorial intermediate date before 28 March: Mobilization against the authoritarian turn (new security decree, Gasparri bill) and against “red zones”.

1 May: Transnational day of struggle, not a celebration, from the United States to Europe (yet to be built)

7–8 May: Demonstration against the presence of the Israeli pavilion at the Venice Biennale.

May: Meeting in Zagreb to reopen the discussion on the new European political space (yet to be confirmed and built)

14 June: Mobilization in Brussels against rearmament and war, within a horizon shaped by a process that connects with empty factories and the involvement of European trade unions.

We thank those who joined us from Kyiv, Zagreb, Berlin, and Tirana, as well as those who could not be physically present but were connected from Brussels, Stockholm, and Athens. We thank the more than 160 interventions over two days, the 3,000 people connected via streaming, and the over 2,000 people who physically passed through TPO and built this space, Together!

From this political space, something new begins, because in Bologna something happened that we will carry back into our cities and territories. A political event occurs when accumulated energies converge and shift the balance among us to a higher level of collective activation.

Against the world of Kings: a new political space sets the tempo of freedom.

Avanti, No Kings.
